Serena Williams is the ‘Queen of Court’ and Nobody can tell her what to do. Just as we expected Serena Williams turns out to be the warrior lady we all were looking for.

She slams her haters and body shamers down with the most epic comeback.

What was it? By wearing a black Tutu. Oh, yes!

After all, nobody can tell the warrior princess what to wear, right?

The Story Background

Serena was criticized for wearing body compressed black suit by the French Tennis President Bernard Giudicelli. He said: “It will no longer be accepted”.

Serena came back to the court and wore a Black Panther-inspired tutu dress instead. The dress was part of the collaboration between Nike and designer Virgil Abloh and named the collection Queen.

Serena referred to her dress inspired by the Black Panther movie and stated ‘I call it, like, my Wakanda-inspired catsuit,’.

Serena also said that she feels like a warrior princess after wearing the tutu dress and it is her way of being a ‘superhero’.

Williams spoke about the dress after beating Kristyna Pliskova on Tuesday, just nine months after giving birth to her daughter:

It feels like this suit represents all the women that have been through a lot mentally, physically, with their body to come back and have confidence and to believe in themselves.”- By Guardian

Serena also added that the black tutu dress is an ‘opportunity’’ for her and to speak to the women and children. It is also her way of inspiring the people to be themselves and not to be afraid of what the world would say.

The Reason Behind the Tutu

Her match with Kristina was a major tournament, after giving birth to her daughter Alexis Olympia. While giving birth, she faced major complications leading to pulmonary embolism.

So just to prevent blood clots, she wore the skin-tight black catsuit.

She made a victorious statement by wearing a tutu dress after the ban of the black catsuit. It helped to send the message to the world after giving birth to her daughter. The off-shoulder black tutu is a representation of powerful women and self-worth and shutting the body shamers powerfully. Williams stated:

I had a lot of problems with my blood clots, and, God, I don’t know how many I have had in the past 12 months. So it is definitely a little functionality to it. I have been wearing pants, in general, a lot when I play, so I can keep the blood circulating going. It’s a fun suit but it’s also functional, so I can be able to play without any problems.”-By Guardian

And the Streak Continues!

Serena, the 23rd time Grand Slam Champion, defeated Carina Witthoeft in another lavender-colored tutu dress.

She won the match as well as her sister, Venus which leads towards a face-off between the two sisters. The two sisters will be meeting during the third round in the US Open. At the same time, Venus downed Camila Giorgi of Italy with 6-4, 7-5.

The William sisters have won 30 Grand Slam singles trophies and have secured the No.1 position in various tournaments. The sisters have played before in the U.S Open all four slams before in 2001 and 2002.
